Let's learn a new craft! Have you ever wanted to be able to make your own clothes, but felt too intimidated to learn to sew? Or are you curious to learn but don't want to invest into a sewing machine only to learn that it's not for you? Well, you're in luck. We are hosting two basic sewing classes for teens. Young adults in grades 6 through 12 can sign up. We will walk you through the basic tools one needs to begin sewing and start on basic sewing skills including how to wind a bobbin, how to thread your sewing machine, and how to do some basic stitches.
You will walk away having made a simple hemmed napkin as your first project. All materials will be provided to you. This program was made possible through a generous grant from New York State Senator Pete Harckham.
A Yorktown Library card is required to participate.
