This 3-hour workshop will focus on understanding how 1 or more of the 5 basic forms can be applied to almost any
subject. You will finish with the ability to see immediately which of the forms applies to your subject at hand. Students will
learn both basic and refined techniques using graphite pencils to lay a foundation for more complex media: ink, pastel,
acrylic, and oil. Individual attention will be given to both beginning and advanced artists.
Basic drawing tools (paper,
pencils, and erasers) will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks (9x12 or 12x16), pencils, and erasers – plus 5 items with simple shapes (sphere, cube, cone, cylinder, and pyramid).
