Event Details

Andrew Carnegie made his fortune in steel by pioneering low-cost production in the late 19th century. His Homestead Steelworks, known for harsh working conditions, was the site of the deadly 1892 strike against the Pinkerton Agency.  After selling his company to J.P. Morgan, Carnegie devoted his wealth to philanthropy, funding over 2,500 libraries - many still in use today.

Presenter Rick Feingold teaches American Business History at Bergen Community College & holds an MBA from Penn State University and a BA in History from Rutgers University.
